Alta Verde is a low-income housing project in Breckenridge, CO that will offer 172 workforce housing units, ranging from studios to three bedrooms. The project shall include a total of four walk-up apartment buildings with interior corridors. On-site amenities will include a leasing office, fitness areas, laundry room, a community room with kitchen, and electric charging stations. Alta Verde Workforce is expected to house 330 members of the community.
Given and Associates is providing the HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical design for the project, which includes an all-electric HVAC design. The project will be certified by the Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) program and will achieve a Net Zero Energy designation. To reach Net Zero, the project will include efficient building design that employs best practices from Zero Energy Ready Homes, passive house strategies and Enterprise Green Communities. The Alta Verde community received ULI Colorado's 2023 Impact Award for Innovation.
