A new five-story 102,000 sq.ft. 150 guest unit hotel at Depot Square in Boulder, CO. Our design included Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical design. Amenities include meeting spaces, coffee shops,spa/fitness facilities, banquet rooms, a full commercial restaurant and kitchen, and an indoor pool.
This project was required to meet the modified Boulder Energy Code requiring that the building perform 30% better, by cost, than a project designed to meet 2006 IECC. This is a very aggressive requirement which meant that the HVAC and lighting systems had to be designed well in excess of Hyatt or normal construction standards. Our design included highly energy efficient central HVAC plants, energy recovery, and day-lighting systems.
